You may NOT actually make a threat to harm yourself or another. We are not equipped to handle actual threats. If you already have a plan... you need to call the hotline for more immediate help.
You may NOT tell us the means you plan, or have already used to harm yourself. We can speak about the urges, without those details. Discussing details, can make your plan more likely for you, and trigger another with the same types of urges.
You may NOT post any graphic images of violence, either self caused or caused by another.
The purpose of a help group.. is to help. If things posted give enough details to trigger another, and they are not protected, we are not helping THEM. Please remember, while the goal of DBT is to reach a point where we can tolerate the pain of life, not everyone is at that level yet? Something that feels minor to one, could be major for another.
